Artist Statement

My artistic practice helps me navigate all the different relationships within my life: my relationship with nature, my loved ones, my own identity, and of course the act of painting itself. Now pursuing art education, I have truly worked through what painting and art in totality means for me--and it boils down to my perception of the world. Whether realistically or abstractly, my work is always me perceiving my surroundings, my interests, or the lack thereof. While some days my work may draw from places or people, or other times my absence of thought, artmaking as a whole represents my human experience. My visual, social, and emotional connection to the outside world is through art, as well as my bridge for the outside world to come to me.
